IES has adopted a British mentality and ethos and the philosophy of education for the individual equal to UK Further Education Colleges due to the vast experience shared by its academic coordinator and staff. We focus on individual learning because each student has unique qualities, strengths and needs. At IES, students achieve beyond expectations through tutoring and mentoring, in an environment of educational excellence where their potential is optimized.

Why IES?

Ethos, values, and quality equal to that of UK institutions with 25 years of experience in British education.

Programmes that prepare you for university entry at all levels and/or for employment.

Value for money - lower fees compared to studying in many other places in Europe or the USA.

Over the last century, Sixth Form Colleges, Tutorial Centres and Further Education Colleges have been established throughout the world as a support and sometimes even an alternative to the traditional educational environment of a school.

At such educational organisations, students aged 16 and up typically study for advanced school-level qualifications, such as GCE A-levels, or any other preparatory course, such as University Access/Foundation programmes, as well as further and higher education programmes, such as BTEC Higher National Certificates and Diplomas. All of these programmes have one common goal: to prepare students successfully for entry to Universities.
In addition, BTEC HNC/HND programmes, which are recognised internationally as the best vocational education programmes, also prepare students to enter directly the work force upon successful completion.

At IES, we believe in learning through courses tailored to suit each individual; and we focus on individual learning because each student has unique qualities and needs. We also encourage our students to take personal responsibility for their studies and to succeed as independent learners. We are committed to putting students first; fostering self-confidence, responsibility and independence in our students; and promoting accessible learning for all.

The ancient capital of Europe & the world

Athens is the historical capital of Europe, with a long history, dating from the first settlement in the Neolithic age. In the 5th Century BC (the “Golden Age of Pericles”) – the culmination of Athens’ long, fascinating history – the city’s values and civilization acquired a universal significance. Over the years, a multitude of conquerors occupied Athens, and erected unique, splendid monuments - a rare historical palimpsest. In 1834, it became the capital of the modern Greek state and in two centuries since it has become an attractive modern metropolis with unrivalled charm. A large part of the town’s historic centre has been converted into a 3-kilometre pedestrian zone (the largest in Europe), leading to the major archaeological sites (“archaeological park”), reconstructing – to a large degree – the ancient landscape.

Athens can be ancient and modern, with Iconic monuments mingle with first-rate museums, lively cafes and al fresco dining. The city is known for its high end shops, where you can find virtually all well known brands at a lesser cost than that of London or other European cities. Besides the two main shopping areas of Kolonaki & Kifissia, Athens has two great shopping malls, where you can find exclusive brands like Cartier, Boss, Dolce & Cabana, Louis Vuitton, Ferragamo, Ralph Lauren, Rolex, Brookes Brothers, to name a few. It also has one the biggest shopping outlet village in Europe, where you can find name brands at very low cost.

Athenians are well known for their friendliness, hospitality and in general for enjoying life. Athens has a fine range of eateries ranging from down-to-earth traditional taverns to upmarket restaurants serving fusion cuisine. Actually you can find virtually everything - from the local souvlaki & gyro & the traditional Mediterranean diet to Japanese or Thai cuisine and from street vendors to 19 restaurants awarded Michelin stars. Today ethnic cuisines are hotter than ever in Athens, including all European, African, Tex-Mex, Chinese, Brazilian, Persian, Argentinian and many more.

As for entertainment, Athens has something for everyone; cinemas, theatres, lots of cafes, bars, clubs, wine bars and live music venues. From the high class clubs to everyday cafe-bars , Athens offers a wide selection of nightlife, satisfying all preferences and tastes. Many of the famous clubs are located right on the beach coast. It is known that several big name international DJ’s stop by Athens to play a show and get the crowd going. But don’t worry if clubbing isn’t your thing, because there is a huge music scene from jazz to rock and local music that play everywhere in the city. You can easily find an outdoor bar with a live band, and lots of people causally drinking and hanging out. No matter what your preference, the lively atmosphere and the musical selections create the ideal conditions for great entertainment.

A full time English language programme at different levels to suit all individual abilities. Its aim is to prepare international students to continue towards UK qualifications.

Our International University Access Programme is designed to prepare students towards Levels 4/5/6 qualifications. Pathways in Business, Engineering, Biological Sciences, Law and more prepare you in the best possible way towards a Bachelor's degree.

GCE A-levels

A two-year full-time programme, which is considered the ‘’Gold Standard’’ for entry to top UK universities, including Cambridge & Oxford, as well as for entry to very competitive courses such as Medical School.

The Higher National Certificate (HNC) & Higher National Diploma (HND) courses are vocational studies designed to teach practical skills as well as theory for specific areas of work. They are normally taken after A-levels or the International UAP and their aim is to allow smooth progress towards a Bachelor Degree as well as to give students the skills required in order to put their knowledge effectively to use in a particular job.

They are one year courses, so at the end of each year students receive an internationally recognised qualification, which allows them either to continue towards a degree or to move straight into the workforce.

Following this scheme of studies, students are eligible to receive three different qualifications and are considered well more advanced practically than their fellow students following a three-year Bachelor programme.
